We need your help! We are looking for people who are interested in making the Go Green Initiative a sucess. We are looking for the following:

You can be part of an innovative initiative that will not only raise education in CCISD to a new level, but will make a positive impact on the environment!
Clear Creek ISD is home to the first “Education Village” in the state of Texas. An Education VIllage is a three campus park where children, grades K-12, come together to learn, explore and become active, positive contributors to our community. The K-5 campus in CCISD’s Education Village, Mossman Elementary, is striving to take teaching our children civic responsibility one step further, by joining a growing number of schools across the United States, and across the globe, that have adopted the “Go Green Initiative.”
The Go Green Initiative, since its inception in 2002, has sought to teach students personal responsibility for their communities, respect for the environment as a whole, and help schools evaluate every aspect of their environmental impact. This innovative program has been recognized by such organizations as the National School Boards Association and the National Recycling Coalition, as well as numerous State PTA’s and civic organizations.
It is through the Go Green Initiative that you can help. Mossman Elementary has three Go Green projects that are in need of financial support.
1.) The Mossman Elementary Playground - Featuring play structures that are not only highly inclusive of our special needs children, but are also completely environmentally conscious, Mossman’s playground will truly be a first for CCISD. Made entirely from recycled milk jugs, and complete with a 100 year warranty, Mossman’s fully ADA certified playground will be an excellent tool for teaching children and the community about recycling.
2.) The Discovery Garden - Growing and caring for plants is a great way for students to work with things that must be measured, counted, weighed, arranged, planned and cared for; thus enhancing a child’s intellectual, emotional and social education. This is the idea behind Mossman’s Discovery Garden.
3.) The Mossman Recycling Program - A successful recycling program at Mossman Elementary not only serves as an excellent teaching tool and example for the students and the community, but also serves as a revenue generator for other on-campus Go Green programs.
***The Discovery Garden and the Recycling Program have recently received a grant of $25,000 from the Houston Galveston Area Council Solid Waste Grant Program.
Through your financial support of these programs, Mossman Elementary will be well on its way toward becoming a strong part of the Go Green Initiative. This will pay dividends for the students as they become better members of our community, and for you, through recognition as a supporter.

Thank you,
The Go Green Team
